Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Norsk Kjernekraft AS, Norway
Mr. Øyvind Aas-Hansen is Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of the Norwegian privately owned company Norsk Kjernekraft AS (“Norwegian Nuclear Power Inc.”), which aims to establish, own and operate nuclear power plants in Norway. Prior to working with Norsk Kjernekraft, Aas-Hansen worked nine years as a senior adviser with the Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (DSA), including representing Norway and DSA in international fora and events such as the Arctic Council EPPR Working Group, and was leading the Arctic Council EPPR Expert Group on radiation from 2019 until starting in Norsk Kjernekraft in August 2023. Aas-Hansen holds a PhD in Arctic Biology, after which he worked 10 years as a research scientist.
